A growing number of people are reporting cases of rape to Leicestershire Police.
The force said the rise in reported attacks indicated increased confidence among victims that their allegations would be dealt with thoroughly and sensitively.
The 437 cases – 276 adults and 161 children – reported between April 2014 and March this year ended in just 32 convictions, seven per cent of the total.
