A city street was taped off for several hours today as Leicestershire Police investigated residents' reports of hearing gunfire.
This is what we know about the incident so far:
The police were called to Tolton Road, off Beaumont Leys Lane, Stocking Farm, Leicester, about 10.25pm yesterday after unconfirmed reports of gunshots.
A police spokeswoman has told us this afternoon it is unlikely any further information will be released today – meaning this is not a confirmed shooting.
