A man has been left with serious head injuries after an assault in Leicester city centre in the early hours of the morning.
The 47-year-old victim was found by a member of the public in Charles Street at 1.50am on Saturday (DEC 17).
He was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham, where he remains in a "stable condition".
Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
