Police have issued an alert to motorists after a series of vehicles were targeted for their catalytic converters.
The devices, which are attractive to thieves because they contain several precious metals, have been taken from underneath vehicles in the Highfields area of Leicester in the past few weeks.
Police believe the thefts are linked to the high price of scrap metal. Replacement units can cost up to £2,000.
