Update at 12.30pm: Police confirm incident is a stabbing, and that one person has died.
Braunstone Gate, New Park Street, Duns Lane and Foxon Street, in Leicester's West End, are shut this morning, having been cordoned off by police.
Residents say they understand someone has been stabbed, and that the incident happened at around 4am today. However, neither of those things have been confirmed by police.
