Two teaching assistants have appeared in court charged with willful neglect of a person without mental capacity.
Leicester Magistrates' Court was told Sam Sebastian, a pupil at West Gate School, in New Parks, Leicester, was involved in an incident in January this year.
Sam, who has Angelman Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and epilepsy, has severe developmental delay and is unable to speak. He also needs assistance to walk and the court was told he required one-to-one assistance in the pool.

Police have released custody photographs of three criminals who have been jailed for an "avalanche of offences".
Thomas Law, Callum Marson and Scott Colman, all of Leicester, appeared at Leicester Crown Court last week and were sentenced for conspiring to commit robbery, burglary and to steal vehicles.
They were jailed for a total of more than 20 years.
