Two men armed with a hammer threatened convenience store staff before escaping with cash and alcohol.
The men, whose faces were masked, targeted the Nisa shop, in Walnut Road, Shelthorpe, Loughborough, on Saturday afternoon.
Police said the pair escaped in a car driven by an accomplice.
No members of staff or customers were injured during the raid, which happened at 1.30pm.
The shop opened in the former Hunters Moon pub in April.

Dominika Mikulova was found in the Gipsy Lane area of Leicester in the early hours of this morning.

Police have released photographs of tools which were seized during a raid in an attempt to return them to their owners.
Officers recovered the tools, including a number of hedge trimmers, chainsaws and a generator, when they executed a search warrant in Golf Course Lane, Braunstone, Leicester.
