A decision on how prosecutors will respond to the death of child abuse suspect Greville Janner will be announced in the new year.
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said it needed time to considering the legal implications of the 87-year-old's death at the weekend.
Janner, who was accused of 22 sexual offences against nine boys and men between 1963 and 1988, died at his home in London on Saturday.
