A judge has commended a man who tackled an out-of-control dog which clamped its jaws on to the face of a little girl.
Courageous Andrei Ghitoaica grabbed the Staffordshire bull terrier's jaw and released its vice-like grip from the four-year-old youngster's severely gashed cheek.
He heard the cries of distressed mother Amina Hajat who was holding her daughter, Umainah, in her arms as the fierce dog attacked, outside their home in Tomlin Road, Northfields.
