Detectives investigating the disappearance of
Kayleigh Haywood believe the body found in a field in Ibstock is that of the missing teenager.
However, Leicestershire Police added that formal identification is yet to take place.
A post mortem will be carried out to determine the cause of death and a detailed forensic examination of the area where the body was found at around 10pm last night will continue this morning.
The area will remain cordoned off.
