A drunken man who took a machete to the scene of a fight ended up being injured and attacked with his own weapon, a court heard.
Aron Luke Harding (27) suffered two eight centimetre gashes, on his back and head, needing a total of 25 stitches.
He also underwent surgery to repair a deep wound with nerve damage to his thumb.
Harding, of Sussex Road, Wigston, was given an eight onth jail sentence, suspended for 12 months, and was ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work.
