A team of Leicestershire Police officers and staff who are trained to use British Sign Language to help communication with deaf people has been shortlisted for a national award.The team, known as the Police Link Officers for Deaf People – or Plod – has been together for four years.As well as helping officers converse with suspects, victims, families and witnesses, they have also helped the force forge better links with relevant charities and community groups.National charity...
