Four ambulances were taken off emergency calls for most of the day yesterday after they were attacked by vandals.Intruders targeted the vehicles at the Gorse Hill ambulance station, in Anstey Lane, near Beaumont Leys, in the early hours of yesterday morning.Windows were smashed and life-saving defibrillators stolen.A spokesman for East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) said the cost of repairs to the vehicles and of replacing the equipment would run to about £85,000.The vehicles were off...
