A young man hit "rock bottom" when his dream of playing professional football was dashed, and he resorted to dealing in heroin, ecstasy and cannabis, a court heard.
Donte Ramsey (19) obtained a football scholarship at the age of 10, but his hopes were shattered at 16, when he was released by Sheffield United.
He then gave up playing semi-professionally, to help his mother care for his terminally-ill grandmother, said defence barrister Paul Prior.
