A gang of masked men tricked their way into a pensioner's home but fled empty-handed.
One of the gang told the OAP, 82, who lives in Little Bowden, near Market Harborough, that he needed to get into her house to check her electricity supply.
Once he had gained entry into her house at about 7.45pm on Saturday, he let his three accomplices in.
Police say the gang searched the woman's house, which is off Rectory Lane, but it is believed they did not steal anything.
