Thugs armed with a knife threatened two teenagers with a knife before snatching a phone from one of them.
The victims, a 15-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy, were targeted in King Richards Road, near Leicester city centre at 11pm on Tuesday.
Police said two young men approached the victims from behind.
They assaulted their young victims but did not use the knife, police said. The boy and girl suffered what police described as 'minor injuries'.
