Armed police are on the streets in the city centre and around the King Power Stadium ahead of Leicester City's Champions League match against Atletico Madrid tonight.
Leicestershire Police said the decision to deploy the officers was not an indication of any threat to the city, the teams or to fans attending the second-leg match.
Nationally, the threat to the UK from international terrorism remains "severe".
