Robbers armed with a hammer hit a shopkeeper three times in the head before escaping with cash.The pair attacked Lakhbir Singh as he closed the Costcutter convenience store, in Charnwood Road, Barwell, on Saturday night.The pair, who are believed to be aged 18 to 20, left the injured shopkeeper at the scene and escaped in a maroon Peugeot 406 car.Mr Singh, who has owned the shop for more than 20 years, was taken to hospital for treatment to the injuries to his head.He returned to work yesterday...
