A pedestrian was killed this morning after being involved in a collision with a car on the A6 in Leicestershire.
The woman, who police said was in her 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident, in Kegworth, north-west Leicestershire.
Emergency services were called to the scene shortly before 1am and the road was closed for several hours while accident investigation teams were at the scene.
It has since re-opened.
