A firearm which was seized during an armed police operation at a village railway station was a ball-bearing gun.
Police took the weapon from a 23-year-old man who was arrested at the Great Central Railway station, in Quorn, at midday on Sunday.
He was arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm and has since been released on bail while officers continue their inquiries, a Leicestershire Police spokeswoman said today.
