A councillor for the area in Leicester worst affected by fly-tipping has sought guarantees the problem will not get worse if a free service to collect bulky waste from homes is scrapped.
Stoneygate ward city councillor Lucy Chaplin raised concerns there would be further illegal dumping in her patch if the current free collections of items, such as furniture and fridges, ceased.
