Criminals have conned people out of £100,000 by tricking them into buying what they claimed to be a winning lottery ticket.
The fraudsters are approaching people in the street, showing them the ticket and claiming they cannot claim the cash themselves because they do not have passports or another form of identification.
One person handed over £50,000 in exchange for the worthless ticket, Leicestershire Police said.
