An elderly couple were duped out of £6,300 by a conman who cold-called them masquerading as a technician from TalkTalk.
The husband and wife – aged 82 and 75 and from Syston, who did not want to be identified – fell victim to the scam on June 17.
It followed a call to the genuine firm to complain about a problem they were having with their television.
