Police will not be using controversial face-scanning technology to spot thieves and other suspects at this year's Download rock festival.
Police chose last year's Download to test whether the technology – which scans facial features and instantly cross-references the results with a database of known criminals – could operate in a large public arena.
The force's use of the system, called Neoface, drew criticism from civil liberties groups.
